I'm no doctor, but this sounds an awful lot like what I experienced with my kidney stones (and they're supposed to be worse than childbirth from what I heard from others with KS's and all the medical staff). I was cramping first and, later, nauseous (from the pain, according to the doctor), etc. just like you. If you have KS's, your diet might need to change (depending on what type of KS's you have and what you're intaking). I know people who can't have as much dairy. I have to drink tons of water and consume less salt. Some people can't have tea, strawberries, chocolates, etc.

I was thinking kidney as well but maybe just an infection or bladder infection. How is your urine? Dark? Are you having to go frequently? Just something to think about...could just be constipation but remember if you up the fiber you need to up the fluids as well.

LOL I am sorry but the way you wrote that tickled me. I was on the edge of my seat to see how it ended (while giggling like a little girl). I am so sorry it was like that I hope it just gets better from here on out. I am a benefiber girl!

I've had that before with the laxatives, as well. I was in pretty severe pain and had no idea constipation could be that bad. But then taking the laxatives proved even more painful. Unfortunately, taking the laxatives took even more water out of my digestive track and I ended worse off than when I started. When all was said and done, I had to take a stool softener for about a week and I was guzzling water. I lost my appetite completely and was literally only drinking broths to try and get nutrients. It took me about 3 weeks to get everything resolved - but part of the problem was I was working offshore and could not run to the corner store or the grocery store to get things that might have helped. That sucked...and now I live in constant fear of constipation.

By the by, that constipation was brought on by taking the OTC meds for a cold/sinus infection I'd been dealing with....

First of all, EXCITING that you're so close to goal. Yee haw.

Secondly, hysterical post. Not about your pain, but your writing style is awesome.

Third, I took Dulcolax once and had HORRIBLE pains that woke me up in the middle of the night. I'd rather give myself an enema than take that stuff again.

Also, FYI, another way to see about your gallbladder, rather than bringing on a painful attack, is to have an ultrasound. That might be easier, lol.

Regardless, you might want to call your doc and go in for a once-over. Hope the pain is gone soon if not already.

Finally, thanks for the advice to tackle one thing at a time. It's a great idea, and a lot easier than trying to change all my habits at the same time. Your advice is really helpful, and I appreciate it.

OK, I feel better that maybe the laxative made it worse (it was Dulcolax). I'm guzzling water like crazy (so no dark pee). No massive pains now like I had this morning...just some mild ones. Hopefully it will be gone tonight (and I promise not to do anything stupid between now and then). No appetite, but I'm going to try and eat something. I'll call the doc tomorrow if it's not completely better. Thanks all!!!

Don't you have a close friend who loves you dearly who can talk you down from whatever medical ledge you're on??? Maybe you should have called her...

OMG, I think I have peed my pants.

Seriously! I've taken things like colace (?) before and never had anything terrible, maybe the brand was too strong. I would call your Primary if you can. Our insurance has a nurses hotline that I've used do you have one of those?

Hope you feel better soon!

Okay that was a hilarious description...but I would still go in for an ultrasound to check the kidneys/gallbladder. I just read something saying 50% of people who lose weight rapidly develop gallstones....

Hope you feel better!!!

I got a gall stone. I did have the Gallbladder removed! I had much pain. The ultrasound is a painless way to see what is going on. I ended up in a CAT scan full body picture.

I also got pains from Dulcolax tons of pain. I do not use that produce any more. I hope you feel better soon. My sinus problem lasted like forever and it was the first time I got sick after being banded. I wish you well in no time.

My States Ski Meet trip got cancelled tonight FOR SNOW and bad weather That is hilarious...OMG thats what we NEED snow!! Right!! Postponed until further notice. Oh well I will have to find something fun to do tonight. Best blog in the world. Love imaluckydog

Ow ow ow ow ow! I'm not sure but having been through similar pains a few years ago - did you think of kidney stones. These are excruciating! You poor lady.

But you had me at the PB in the potty as you go to the loo - you have a funny way (funny good, not funny bad lol) of describing things. I always have a laugh at your posts. Hope you feel better soon and sort the tummy thing :)
