Thanks BG. Its great to learn from a Loser like you! ;)

I was happy to be able to keep up Friday pizza nights - same deal for me, no more than one slice.

I heart Greek Yogurt but never thought to use the plain in place of sour cream. Great idea.

And lucky you - a DH that cooks!

Good blog...agree with the 20g protein at each meal. What about snacking? I know we're not supposed to but i usually have some yogurt or a fruit or raw veggie in between meals...I also use the greek yogurt in place of sour cream but also in place of mayo in dips or tuna salad.

Thanks for sharing. I printed this and have a file from other blogs of very successful banders like you. I can't wait to put these things into practice. I have a book that my Dr. recommended, "The Lap Band Companion" They keep stressing in the book that foods that most people are afraid to eat for fear of getting stuck are really your best friend when eaten properly. That those foods keep you satisified the longest. I'm so impressed with your success. Again, thanks for sharing.

My brand is Voskos...and I agree, buy the plain and add your own stuff. I cant be bothered but many people strain it thru a paper towel or coffee filter to get a very thick (soft cheese) consistency.

Thanks for all the great ideas. They will go in my file as well for when I get banded.

This was a great post. I LOVE cooking ideas for the LB.

By the way, I did not experience pains with KS's when going #1 until I was about to pass the stone (several weeks after the initial, horrible pains that were like the ones you experienced--we are supposed to, and I did, catch the stone in a strainer when it passes through the urethra; this doesn't feel so great either, but it's a different kind of pain than the sharp abdominal pain at the onset). Saying that, I don't remember (??) pains associated with #2 either. ??? I don't know if you have a KS (and hope you don't), but what you mentioned definitely reminded me of how I felt with mine. If it were associated with the laxative (without coincidence), I would hazard it's something else too, but I hope that whatever it is, it is over!!

Oh, and as far as a litle more KS info just FYI, I didn't know about mine until I had had a couple (because the first couple had already passed when I had my ultrasound--so there was nothing to detect). It was the same type of pain I experienced later, so I knew I'd had a couple before I was finally diagnosed. In the end, my doctor told me that these are also more frequent among those who've had WLS.

What a great post! Thank you for taking the time to lay this all out! I am like a sponge trying to absorb all these great ideas! I can't wait to start trying them out once I get banded...probably a good idea to start now. 28 more days to go!

Thanks BG, me and Linda talked about you...you are our hero! :) I've tried the greek yogurt and just don't like it much, but I'm going to keep trying different things to work it in, the protein is really unparalled! Thanks for the info!

I was a a "fancy" grocery store on the way back from my fill yesterday. They sure have a lot of delicous healthy options compared to my country store.

Anyway, I noticed that Dannon and Yoplait now make Greek Yogurt. I bought 3 of the Dannon and they are terrific!
