BG---you HAVE to write a book!!! I can see it in the format of Oprah's "Make the Connection" book from back in the day---each chapter has some excerps from her diary--you could have exerps from your blog...and you can share with the world how you finally did it! You are an inspiration! Finish your headband first-but I think a book is in order at the end!! :o) Thanks for your motivation and congrats on being NORMAL!! Woo-Hoo!
And the best thing about your book is that you wouldnt have to pay for an illustrator! I am so jealous of how you draw! I am also looking forward to seeing how this "end-phase" of your weight loss goes...how maintaining looks, etc.
Everything you said I identify with. I hope I can be as successful as you have been and one day I can look back and be so honest and insightful. Great post!!
Yet another amazing post from the person I can't wait to read more from! You are a year ahead of me and yet I feel like you are going through exactly what I'm going through because you can articulate even memories so succinctly!
I agree, you need to write a book. I've said it before and I'll keep singing that song until you do it! And think - it's mostly written!
As for the BDD - you are gorgeous! You could stop here and everyone would think you are thin fit and healthy. I understand the BDD all too well, but sometimes hearing it from others helps. You are gorgeous!
And finally, when does the SWA meet again? I'm in serious need of a refresher on the 12-step program...
This was one of your best blogs...I have to think about this stuff too. The part about not eating to cover up unhappiness but cover up even knowing we're unhappy really hit home to me. Seems like you should bill us for the therapy. Thanks!
Another thing I covered up with food--stress. Learning to deal with stress without stuffing my face has been a journey all by itself. Hugs, BG!! We'll all be in Healthy, Happy Onderland.
It's always so nice when you can lay yourself out there and find others that feel the same!
Thanks for the lovely comments and support! Book...hmmm....
SWA Meeting: 2/22/10...the notice will be out soon...dust off your party dresses; and LD, just so you don't have to wait - 12 step program = on, off, on, off, on, off, on, off, on, off, on, off! We're here to serve!
BG, you are still the teacher and I the student. I want to follow in your footsteps every step of the way. While I am creating my own path on the amazing journey. When someone rushed up to me today and yelled out loud for all to hear "OMG you look like you have lost 100 pounds!!!" I said no not yet but I am working on it!!! She said How did you do it? I told her I read a blog and then I write blogs back and that helps me to keep my paws out of the cookie jar. She did not believe me.... Well we know the truth. I cannot go a day without checking to see if you have written something. I am like a little school child waiting for the next chapter. No Kidding I just want to say thank you for helping me and keeping me focused on what I have to do everyday. Of course I can relate I would not be here if I didn't.... Love you I am having a good day ;-) imaluckydog
Both Kathi(y)s are fans!, but I liken myself to an addict who would check LBT everyday in 10 minute intervals (from work no less, shhhh!) hoping to get a little wisdom from the wise one, BG! So glad you are HERE and I'm seeing lots of your followers, I knew they'd come! Write it, they will come!!! OHHH, and taking em out back and punching repeatedly in their port....I don't know when but I gotta use that someday! REALLY laughed when I read it, thanks!
It's so funny you wrote that about your pictures. I had my husband take new pics of me a couple weeks ago. First I looked at the "before" pics - Ok, they don't look good but it is what it is. Then I looked at the new ones, wow - I really did lose a lot of weight. Then . .. The strangest thing happened when I looked back at the before pictures, they looked totally different. I looked sooo much fatter - I couldn't believe it. It was more shocking to me than seeing the weight loss in the new pictures. I also had been fooling myself - totally. I still cannot get over it. Anyway, thanks again for a great blog, I'm like the others rushing to my computer every day to see what you have written!
BG, I finally figured out how to log on to Google. I am so computer illiterate! I have been here reading your blog for the last week or so. Anyway, just wanted to say, that your latest entry was so good. I am so grateful that you continue to write and I agree with the comments, you do need to write a book. Barbara
I'm a wife, mother of three, and eternal optimist. I've been skinny and obese and all the places in between (too many times). Getting the Lap Band is the best thing I've ever done for myself. I love to laugh and I share everything (in this Lap Band Blog ). Have you heard? I'm on a new journey to pay-it-forward and with the encouragement and support of my Lap Band Groupies.........
I'M WRITING A Lap Band BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Join Me!

Oh,yes, and you do look sad in the picture.

Barbara, glad you're here and figured it out (I'm useless with tech stuff)!
Diane- Do you have a blog here? Advertising?! YIKES!
I'll bet one of my publishers might be interested in your book, BG.
So inspirational!
