2/8/11 1st Surgeon Appointment

Today's the big day! I've finally got a new Doc and I'm going in for my first 'visit'! Yes, I'm having deja vu too...almost exactly two years ago today I went in for my first visit with my surgeon and now I'm right back there again!

Catching you up: first one Doc left my practice for another in town, then the second Doc (last one in a two Doc practice) left the state for another practice, then my hospital announced they had two Docs from a practice in town that would be coming, then they cancelled my fill appointment (for the second time) and announced that two other Docs from another hospital were coming soon...and then I waited...for them to call with the new appointment...like they promised...

A month later (last week) I called. Since only one of the new Doc's is covering the 'LB Patients' and since he's still got his old practice at the other hospital, their first opening at my hospital was April 4...yes, that's right...I've been waiting for a fill since the beginning of October and they couldn't get me in until April 4.

Good luck with the fill...sending good vibes for a big girl fill. How interesting that different practices have different "rules" for the fills...I have always had major weight losses at all of the my fill appts and the NP asks each time... "how much fill do you want?" I feel very blessed to have a surgeons practice that trusts their patients and lets us use our tools how we want. :) PS: your DD is BEAUTIFUL!

Your DD is stunning!

Is there a Fill Center USA near you?

I can't imagine that the surgeon would refuse to give you a fill, especially since you've gained a bit.

What an elegant photo of your daughter. Absolutely gorgeous!

As for the new surgeon, I completely get all the what-if's. I had them all, too, when I met my new "surgeon" but the switch was well worth it and it all worked out well! I have faith that it will for you, too!

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the fluoro. The fluoro will show that you need that fill. And while it will show that you are more open than anyone would like, in my experience with the fluoro, they also ask you what YOU want, too.

I am going to believe that it will all work out well and I can't wait for an update!

Wow that photo looks like it came from the cover of a social magazine, very attractive!!.
Ok here is my 2 cents worth of advice.. go into the visit and be direct. ... tell them youve been doing this for 2 years and you need a fill.. you are paying for this service and you know when you need a fill and you are here for that service. I dont think you need to negotiate this.. just tell them

I've been there with a doubtful doctor. I hope he's not of the ultraconservative mindset with fills. I'm crossing my fingers for you to get a hassle-free fill.

Your daughter is just beautiful (looks just like her mom)!

Are you going to the same office that I go to? Rhymes with Schma-schmee? Just wondering. I have no ideas for you as I'm still without a band.

Good luck! Be assertive, this isn't your first time at the rodeo.

You and your daughter really look alike. I know you are nervous about your appointment, but as articulate and prepared as you are, I'm sure they'll do whatever you want. However, if not feel free to threaten them with the wrath of your blogger friends.
