BG, this is so amazing, thank you so much. Tough love very much needed. And virtual hugs too!

Identifying the things we can't change and taking charge with the things we can is so key.

There is so much helpful in this post, I need to read it a bunch of times to really digest everything. Thank you so much.

I love you and Gen like crazy.
We are all in this together.

Well said BG--I appreciate your truthfulness!
I will refer to this blog often--

The band is not a magic fix-only an aid!

damn that was long...but it was so good. And you said so many things that I have often thought. Sometimes I don't offer advice bc I often feel like "Who in the hell am I to offer advice"? Even if I have lost 160 pounds, sometimes I feel just as lost as the rest of us. And the thing about the band is, it's just one factor in our weight loss...so I can write and myself and the band, but my LIFE perhaps has made me more successful at the band than others. I have no kids, my girlfriends a trainer, my exboyfriend was super supportive, etc. So many factors.

Anyways...well written! And you made me think!

What a great post! I love it when you blog like this. You articulate what I think so many of us are thinking and dealing with right now - as does Gen.

I don't like hearing that you are dealing with anything let alone multiple things. I hope everything is ok. I hope you know you have lots of support and love out here.

An email is coming, too.

Love you.

I have been mulling over some of these thoughts myself, but you wrote it sooo much better than I ever could! Thank you for this post! Is it wrong to say that I'm jeolous of your book since it takes you away from us?

BG,thanks so much for this post. I truly appreciate the clarity with which you write and the points you are making. There are a hand full of blogs that I read (and I read a ton!) that provide me tremendous insight and help as I navigate through these initail stages of being banded. Yours is one of the best. I am currently in Bandster Hell and stuggling with the promise (but lack) of restriction. I am trying so hard to let go of my bad eating habits and and to control the things I can. I will re-read this many times and use it to focus on the things I need to be thinking about.

Thanks for being you!

Great post...you have a lot of self awareness that I think some of us lack. I really credit you with helping me seek out a fill after such a long plateau...duh!!
You may need a tiny fill also but right now I dont think the whole weight thing is that important...more important to just take care of yourself and your family.

Terrific post my Friend.. We all need to FIND our buckets, and then take that first dip - only then can we help those around us..

(((((huggggssss))))) to you. And thank you for being my inspiration, my support, and my smile when I need one.

Still reading...I told you I need to read it over and over!

"Just because you have a little bit of hunger between meals doesn't mean you need a snack"...another gem.

The set point idea. So true.

Thanks again for taking the time to write this. And I hope your own struggles are manageable and come to an end very soon!

I'm just echoing the masses, but I had to: this is a great post, BG!!! LOVE YOU!!!

I hope your struggles get better soon--I agree: this was a great post and really made me think about the 'set point.'
I'm going back to my blog to reflect on that a bit more...
