9/30/10 Book Query- Agent

I'm proud and happy to say that after working on this the last month, the first batch of my query letters  for the Lap Band Book went out yesterday (if you know anyone in the business I can send this to, I'm sure you'll let me know)!

This has been a ton more work  than I ever imagined...ignorance is certainly bliss...I knew it would be hard, but I had no idea it would take as much time to work on researching/doing all the publishing side of it, as the book writing.

Published or not, I'm glad I'm doing this and I want you all to know, I'm giving it my best! Game on!

I had friends in college who wallpapered their walls with their rejection letters...they are a badge of courage and a rite of passage. Those of us who havent got a publisher's rejection are the ones who never had the ovaries to try! Keep on!

Sorry about the rejection, but I am sure it happens to everyone! Great job pulling this all together, though. You will get the letter you are waiting for! I can't wait to read your book, you are such an inspiration! Than you! <3

What about approaching some of the mega-clinics like True Results and things like that and trying to get them to endorse the book and then publish? I went through True Results, I think you know, and they have a book they hand out at the consultation. It's an ok book but nowhere near as great as what you have put together. I know I, for one, would actually tell my clinic they need to consider this. And while True Results isn't everywhere, they are certainly in a lot of places - and I know there are other things like True Results, too.

I'm sure you won't get 100% rejections, anyway. I'm confident your book will get picked up and that you'll probably even have some agencies competing for you!

Congratulations on that major feat! Being a self-published author I know the hard work that goes in to what you are doing. I applaud it all! The rejection makes the acceptance all that much sweeter. You only need one approval to get published. Keep at the good work.
